The Guesthouse
Stonehouse from 1933
This charming little house was partly a ruin
when I bought the land in 2009.
When I started living in Portugal I lived with my
family in the guesthouse, which had only the
kitchenroom back then.
The roof was 1 m lower, the window was tiny,
the floor was rae cement, the roof had no
insulation, the walls where without plastering
We started rebuilding this old house slowly and
with a lot of love. We tried to rebuild it in a
way that the chaaracter of an old stone ruin
remains.
There is still potential to rebuild more rooms in
the basement and one day we will also add a
shady wooden terrasse.
