The Guesthouse

Stonehouse from 1933

Before I became mother I worked for the IFS in Austria and accompanied teenagers who struggeled hard in their life on a 10 week project to Rumania. This experience was very profound for the teenagers, but also for me. Being a mom I could not do this work anymore, but offer my land in Portugal for these projects to take place here. 1-3: So this terrasse was created. We called it “The Camp”. It was avery simple place with wooden huts, caravans and composting toilet. We built it together with the teenagera and their supervisors. Also thanks to my brother who supported us with builing the huts! We had the pleasure to host many teenagers from Austria and also Germany. I loved the way, these young people found selflove and positivity again. But as it happens too often, these wonderful projects stopped, because of the lack of money… 4: In 2017 a forrestfire hit our land and also burned down our Camp. It took us quite a while to restart on our land after this shocking experience. 5: In 2021 my husband built “Casa do Corvo” for me to work as a healer again and in summer 2023 we had the idea to revive the former camp. 6-8: So we are busy now with building an outdoorkitchen and the composting toilet. When this is done, we will start our wiking huts.
